A source-linked sample for retailers & catalogue teamsFor USB-C retailers & catalogue teams
Before you edit,
check the context.
A cable listing says 240 W. Another source says 100 W. Before changing the page, separate the product family, exact variant and unanswered supplier question.

The working sample
Three records.
Three different reasons
to pause.
This is a small, manually curated comparison of published claims. It does not establish cable performance, charging, display support, compatibility, physical revision or stock identity.
Source review window: , 15:12:24–15:14:08 UTC. Independent replay completed at 15:35:14 UTC that day. These are review-operation times, not publisher dates or independently verified origin-fetch times. Publication dates, update dates and revisions remain unknown. Source pages may have changed.
Apple MW493AM/ADifferent fields within one retailer page
What the captured sources say
- The B&H overview describes USB 2 data support. A separate specification field describes charging without data. These are distinct published fields, not proof of the cable’s physical behaviour.
- The Apple page describes USB 2 data support. Its reviewed body did not supply an explicit MPN; MW493AM/A was associated through the URL. B&H explicitly identified MW493AM/A.
Still unknown: the intended meaning of the retailer field, manufacturer body identifier, revision, stock identity and measured data behaviour. The overview’s protocol is not assigned to the separate table field.
Xcellon TB3-540-2Thunderbolt and ordinary USB-C are different modes
What the captured sources say
- An indexed manufacturer category entry and the retailer list a 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt claim for TB3-540-2. The retailer separately describes a USB 2 fallback with an ordinary, non-Thunderbolt USB-C host.
- These statements concern different operating conditions. A USB 2 family label is not a numeric rate measurement. The manufacturer product extraction returned a JavaScript shell, leaving ordinary USB-C display support unverified.
Still unknown: manufacturer-confirmed fallback and display conditions for an identified revision, stock identity and physical behaviour. Missing manufacturer display evidence does not mean display is unsupported. The secondary 6.5/6.6-foot descriptions are rounded labels.
OWC OWCCBLTB4C2.0MFamily rating, unknown variant and revision
What the captured sources say
- The manufacturer family page has a 240 W headline, while its 2 m active selection says 100 W. That is a difference in scope, not a confirmed contradiction about the same variant.
- An indexed manufacturer item excerpt lists 100 W and explicitly maps MPN CBLTB4C2.0M to SKU OWCCBLTB4C2.0M. Those fields were blank in the partial live extraction; indexed evidence is not a complete live specification.
- CDW lists SKU OWCCBLTB4C2.0M with 240 W. Its active/passive variant and revision were not established. The sources do not show that both item claims concern the same physical hardware.
Still unknown: both item revisions, retailer variant, current stock identity and applicable power specification. The manufacturer MPN and SKU are different identifiers; the mapping above is explicit indexed evidence, not an assumed prefix match.
Original paraphrases of a frozen source review, not a copied catalogue. No source publication or update date is inferred from a crawl, review, copyright or retrieval date. These three curated records do not establish general coverage or accuracy.
A narrower, useful review
From a published claim
to a better question.
The sample shows the review structure: a source location, its operating conditions and what still needs confirmation. It does not choose the correct specification on your behalf.
Keep the identifier attached
Record the stated MPN or SKU, source location, length and variant. Mark URL-only or indexed identity evidence explicitly.
Compare like with like
Separate family and item claims, host protocols and units before treating different numbers as a review question.
Leave a question, not a verdict
Carry unknown revision, stock and operating conditions into a specific supplier question. A desk comparison cannot verify hardware.
The useful output
A question you can
take forward.
A source-linked comparison is a starting point for clarification. The next answer needs an identified product and applicable conditions.
Go to the OWC example“For SKU OWCCBLTB4C2.0M, which revision and active/passive variant are in the stock you supply? Which specification applies to that exact item? The captured family, variant and retailer pages have different scope and evidence limits.”
This is a proposed clarification, not a confirmed listing error, manufacturer response, compatibility result or commercial commitment.
A possible next step
Pilot proposal.
Enquiries are not open
on this page.
- Available now
- The three sample records above are open to read and compare. No account, upload or submission is needed.
- Proposed scope
- A later manual pilot could cover up to 3 public product URLs, 15 claim locations, 2 operator hours and one round of questions about the report—only if scope, availability and timing are agreed first.
- Possible output
- A source-linked comparison, visible evidence gaps and supplier questions. Physical testing, certification, supplier confirmation and guaranteed compatibility would be outside that proposed scope.
- No intake here
- This page does not accept review requests, customer data, orders or payments. Capacity and a receiving route have not been confirmed; no pilot is booked or promised.
