📖 Step-by-Step Practical Guide
- 1Step 1Enter the USD amount you give and the actual provider rate in KRW for 1 USD. Choose the quote for selling your USD, not the reverse transaction.
- 2Step 2Enter only a separately quoted KRW fee. Leave it blank if unknown; enter 0 only when no separate fee is explicitly quoted. A spread already in the rate is not deducted again.
- 3Step 3Optionally enter a second quote and confirm matching amount, direction and conditions. The signed difference compares your entries; actual settlement remains unconfirmed.
A useful comparison starts with real quotes
- Check the actual rate offered for giving USD and receiving KRW, plus the transaction conditions.
- Keep a rate's included spread separate from any fee actually quoted on top.
- Compare complete entered plans only after confirming matching conditions. Check the final provider receipt separately.
A quoted rate is different from a market reference
This planner covers one direction: you give USD and receive KRW. Use the actual provider rate for that direction and transaction type. Cash selling and buying rates differ, as can cash and transfer rates. Do not reverse a retail rate by taking its reciprocal or reuse another transaction’s quote.
A provider rate may already include an exchange spread. This planner multiplies your USD amount by that entered rate and subtracts only a separately quoted KRW charge that you enter. It does not deduct an assumed bank, airport or money-changer percentage, infer the spread from a reference rate, or assess any provider.
Intermediate arithmetic uses exact scaled integers. Whole-won results use half-up rounding for display only, including signed differences calculated before display rounding. This is a planning illustration, not a provider’s settlement or cash-denomination rule. Actual spread, tax and final receipt remain unknown.
The optional ECB panel is an informational daily reference, not a cash buying/selling quote or live bank feed. It loads only on your request and never fills in your rates or changes the manual plans. ECB observations are generally published on working days except TARGET closing days; the observation date and collection time have different meanings.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Does the planner show a live bank or Myeongdong exchange quote?
No. Enter the actual provider rate for selling your USD and receiving KRW. No bank, airport, neighborhood, promotion or fee percentage is assumed. A market reference is not a retail cash quote.
Should I subtract the spread again from a provider’s offered rate?
No assumed spread is subtracted. A rate offered for the transaction may already include a spread. Enter only a separately quoted whole-KRW fee. Blank means unknown; 0 means you explicitly entered no separate charge. This tool does not verify the quote’s completeness.
What does the A/B difference mean?
It is the signed B-minus-A difference of your entered planned nets, calculated before final display rounding. Both rates, both separate fees and matching amount, direction and conditions must be confirmed. Changing an entry resets that confirmation. It is not verified savings or a provider recommendation.
Is the whole-won plan my final cash payout?
No. Half-up rounding is a display policy for this illustration. Provider rounding, cash denominations, actual spread, tax and final settlement are not confirmed. A missing fee stays unknown; a fee greater than the conversion amount requires checking the quote.
What does the optional ECB reference show?
It shows a dated informational USD/KRW cross-rate calculated by UseKorea from ECB EUR/USD and EUR/KRW observations, with a collection time and source. It is not a transaction rate, never fills in your provider quotes, and is withheld when older than this service’s seven-calendar-day policy. Manual quote planning continues independently.
